This is my second pair of wheels from WheelAngel, and the experience has been excellent once again. Got a set of mini velos from Andy & Angel. the wheels have been smooth so far from riding on PCNs & potholes. they have been wonderful to deal with; helping me with all of my enquiries & providing great service! Andy also helped take a nice photo of the bike 😎
I recently purchase the Wheel Angel SLX 49/54 carbon spoke wheelset and today is my first structured training ride, and the performance stood out immediately — not in a flashy way, but in the way that actually matters when you’re riding with intent. What impressed me most was the consistency and control. The wheels feel very composed at speed, hold momentum well, and remain predictable even when riding close to threshold or transitioning back into endurance pace. On climbs and rolling terrain, the stiffness feels well-balanced — responsive without being harsh — and the bike tracks cleanly when seated and pushing steadily. From a ride feel perspective, the SLX 49/54 gives a strong sense of efficiency. I felt less “fighting” against the system, recovered quicker after harder segments, and could settle back into rhythm easily. That tells me the build quality and spoke tension are properly dialled, not just light on paper. Andy as the owner and builder, was also excellent to deal with. knowledgeable, approachable, and a wonderful person who cares deeply about how the wheel performs on the road, not just on a spec sheet. It shows in the final product. If you’re looking for a high-quality, locally powered carbon spoke wheelset that delivers real-world performance, stability, and confidence, Wheel Angel is absolutely worth considering.
